Lokomotiv Moscow head coach Mikhail Galaktionov shared his thoughts after his team’s 1-0 victory over Baltika in the 29th round of the Russian Premier League.

Lokomotiv Moscow secured a narrow win, with Rudenko scoring the only goal in the 4th minute.

“The team proved they can perform without Batrakov. How did we redistribute roles? Let’s start with the fact that losing any leader has an impact, especially on attacking potential. But the lads did well, following our instructions. The team played quite freely and easily, though we were a bit rushed at times. The red card played its part. We had chances while a man up and created opportunities. Everything was fine until the penalty. But with our nervousness, the opponent sensed it. There were a few attacks where we forced the play and rushed. Several mistakes could have led to counterattacks. Anton showed leadership qualities with the penalty save. We continue the fight for medals. Just one step remains,” Galaktionov said, as quoted by Championat correspondent Vladimir Chetverik.
After 29 matches in the Russian league, Lokomotiv have 53 points and sit third. Baltika have 46 points and are in fifth place.
