Avangard captain Damir Sharipzyanov summed up the season for the Omsk-based team after their loss to Lokomotiv in the Gagarin Cup semifinals.
“It’s hard to give a sober assessment of our season’s result right now—it still hasn’t fully sunk in. We have two paths: either spend the whole summer feeling sorry for ourselves, lamenting how things turned out, or channel everything into sports anger. These feelings must stay with us until the next playoffs. We’ll figure out how to redirect what we experienced in Games 6 and 7 in the right direction,” Sharipzyanov said.
Lokomotiv is the reigning Gagarin Cup champion.
