But honestly? There’s no reason for panic.
After the initial shock, Palmeiras controlled large stretches of the game. They dominated possession, created more chances, pressed until the final whistle, and came close to turning the result around despite playing on a very heavy pitch.
If anything might frustrate coach Abel Ferreira, it’s probably the amount of missed opportunities. The club produced enough to win. Murilo nearly scored with a header, Lucas Evangelista wasted a great chance late on, and Bruno Fuchs had a goal disallowed due to a handball by Flaco López.
Context also matters. Belém turned into something close to a swimming pool before kickoff, the match was delayed, the pitch was extremely heavy, and Remo—backed by over 40,000 fans—played as if it were a cup final.
