At this stage of the season, a win is all that matters for survival. The most positive takeaways for Real Valladolid were the reliability of Aceves and the spectacular emergence of Carvajal, who scored a stunning goal.
**Aceves:** Outstanding and extremely confident, without a doubt the best player on the pitch thanks to several highly meritorious saves.
**Alejo:** Not his day. He was mired in the mediocrity that plagued the rest of the team.
**Tomeo:** Handled his duties well and nearly scored with a header. Acceptable.
**Torres:** Picked up his fifth yellow card and will miss the trip to Santander. As always, he brought security and pace.
**Clerc:** Tried to join the attack and defended his flank. Solid, nothing more.
**Ponceau:** The Frenchman’s contribution was disappointing. He doesn’t direct play well and lacks goal threat. Substituted.
**Juric:** Lost in midfield.
**Lachuer:** Neither here nor there. Thankfully his cross was finished by Latasa for the first goal; otherwise he barely influenced the game. Substituted.
**Peter Federico:** The season is dragging on for him. He has vanished. Ineffective and substituted.
**Biuk:** He tried and even managed a shot on goal, a bit better than other days, but not by much.
**Latasa:** Excellent finish for the first goal. He fought as always and was more focused, but above all he did what is expected of a striker: score. An ugly challenge on him led to a straight red card for Soberón.

**Carvajal:** A stellar appearance in the 84th minute replacing Latasa. The second ball he touched went into the net, sealing a victory that brings them closer to survival—at least virtually.
**Maroto:** Came on in the 62nd minute for Lachuer, but barely intervened and changed little.
**Sanseviero:** Entered in the 62nd minute for Peter, but hardly touched the ball.
**Marcos André:** Replaced Ponceau in the 71st minute. He fought but was inaccurate on the counterattacks. Should have sealed the game but was somewhat selfish and greedy.
**Amath:** Came on for Biuk in the 84th minute and had no time to make an impact.
