Rotenberg on His Future: ‘I Am Open to Any Offers

Published on: 2026-05-11 | Author: admin

Roman Rotenberg, the first vice-president of the Russian Ice Hockey Federation and head coach of the “Russia 25” national team, has spoken about his potential future involvement with the International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF).

“I have worked at the international level for many years and continue to do so. The fact that we went to the Olympics in 2018 is a result of work done at the international level. Thank God, I have language skills. But honestly, right now I am focused on developing methodologies, exercises, and on-ice work. That is what I have been working toward for many years.

All 18 years I spent in the KHL in Saint Petersburg, and working with the Federation, I have been building toward this for a long time. I have studied every coach’s training sessions, attended all their practices. So today, my interest lies in working with children, and specifically with the Russian national team.

Of course, I also want to work with a KHL team, to prepare players for the Olympics and the World Championships. That is my desire. As for any international offers, I am always open to any proposal—we’ll talk,” Rotenberg stated.
